Employee Spotlight: Alexander Becker

Today, we shine the spotlight on a member of our R&D team, Alex!

Presently, Alex is pursuing his master’s degree and working as a Software Engineer at the same time. Always open-minded and down-to-earth, Alex is very easygoing. His teammates find him analytical and easy to work with. They value his work and are happy that he is a part of the team!

In our chat with him, we find out more about his view on the challenges of developing technology in the field of online marketing, as well as juggling between work and studies.

Meet Alex!

Hi Alex, what do you do as Software Engineer at Ingenious Technologies?

I am a part of the R&D Team. I am mainly developing front-end applications both for clients and for internal purposes. It is a big pleasure working with an experienced international team while bringing in your own ideas into the company.

In your opinion, what are the challenges of developing technology in the online marketing field?

In general, I think a big challenge is the highly dynamic market, in which you are expected to provide state-of-the-art technology. You aim to deliver software that is stable and viable. Yet it must be able to react flexible to new requirements. And dealing with large amounts of data in real-time requires taking really sophisticated measures.

You are currently studying business information systems. Why have you chosen this particular field for studies?

I have always had an interest in communication technology and information systems, since it is affecting our everyday life more and more. Linking this with business aspects, my studies enable me to recognize specific business needs and to acquire skills to develop supportive IT-solutions for many popular areas.

You are juggling both work and studies at the same time. How are you managing that?

I am profiting from my studies thematically, as it is almost perfectly aligned to my job.

It motivates me in both directions, because I can combine theoretical knowledge with practical application and it makes me enjoy both the studies and the profession. From the organisational view, the flexible working hours at the office allow me to cope with my curricular time constraints.

Where is your favourite spot in Berlin?

This is difficult to determine. Berlin has many exciting places, of which each has its own character and surprises. For example, the Bergmannkiez. I love spending hours there with friends in a cafe and also meeting fascinating people from all over the world.

What are your goals for the next years?

I can hardly wait to finish the college. After graduating with a Master’s degree, I want to enter the working life fully, start making some childhood dreams come true and travel the beautiful places on earth which I only know from pictures.

Thank you, Alex!
